Hazaribag, Dec 28: A big raid was carried out in the high-security Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Central jail which resulted in the recovery of pen drives, knives, heaters and electronic items.
The superintendent of police Manoj Ratan Chauthe said that ten teams raided the jail assisted by senior administrative and police officers.
Chauthe confirmed the recovery of no mobile phones but said they have found objectionable items like knives, pen drives and other electronic items.
He said they are investigating on what was the use of pen drives in this jail.
A total of ten teams comprising 100 members were part of this raid. All male and female wards, general ward, anda cell and canteen to other places were searched.
Deputy commissioner Nancy Sahay who led the team with Chauthe said a probe is on to know what all contents are stored in pen drives.
