Hazaribag, June.18: A youth who died a few days ago was not a case of a road accident but a planned murder. The Gorhar police reached out to this fact during the investigation and eventually arrested two youths who were behind this killing. The duo was sent to jail. Gorhar police station officer-in-charge Mukesh Kumar said that on June 08, on the written application of Charka Marandi, a case was registered number 27/23. In his complaint, Charka set aside the theory that his son Shyam Sundar Marandi died in a road accident. He requested the police to probe the case and to find the facts related to the death of his son Shyam.
During the investigation, the police found that Shyam Sundar Marandi was not killed in a road accident, but was murdered by Shibu Baske, a resident of Doomardiha village and Krishna Hembram, a resident of Baradih. At the same time, the police disclosed that in the incident of the night of June 07, four boys of village Badkitod had reached village Dumardiha in Barkatha block to attend the wedding on a motorcycle. Out of these four boys, one Bundi Lal Hembram left the wedding ceremony and went to the forest area to meet a girl from Dumardiha village whom he had known for many days. But the girl’s cousin came there all of a sudden making Bundi Lal Hembram flee from there He said about the incident to his two friends Shyam Sundar Marandi and Surendra. The trio decided to leave the spot with Bundi Lal himself driving the bike and Surendra sat in the middle beside Shyam Sundar Marandi at the back. The girl’s cousin along with one of his friends started chasing Bundi Lal Hembram on the bike with an axe in his hand. Near Baradih village, the girl’s cousin hit Shyam Sundar Marandi with the axe on his head who was riding the bike sitting behind Surendra. He died on the spot.
In the course of the investigation, the accused Shibu Baske and Krishna Hembram, involved in the incident, confessed their crime. Both the accused were sent to judicial custody.
