Hazaribag, Dec 4: The state government’s go ahead to a bridge on a river in Keredari has fulfilled the decades old demand of the over 10 thousand people of Manatu panchayat. The rural development department has floated a tender to construct a bridge here with a total amount of Rs 4 crore.

Congress MLA of Barkagaon, Amba Prasad who is working on the project said, “Once completed, this will sort out the connectivity problem of people of this area.” She said that the bridge got clearance under the mukhyamantri gram setu yojana.

Sources said that villagers of Masuria, Lajidag, Pahra, Kojia, Itij, Hewai, Pandekuli and a few others have been demanding the construction of a bridge on this river. “In order to go to other places, we have to cross this river creating difficulties. During monsoon, it becomes impossible to cross this rain fed river,” claimed the villagers.

Villagers apprised MLA Prasad about this problem as she was touring the area a few months ago. Notably, the region falls in her constituency. She promised the villagers to get clearance for a bridge here.
