Ramgarh, Feb 21: The Pakri Barwadih coal mining project today acknowledged the women dumper operators. 21 women dumper operators are providing their services in the project.
- V. R. Reddy, Executive Director of the Pakri Barwadih Project, and M. Padmavathi, President of the Jagriti Mahila Sangh, invited ‘Mahilashakti’ to the programme and honoured them in the presence of all heads of departments.
MDO Triveni-Sainik is responsible for NTPC’s mining operations, as well as providing employment and other benefits.
Operating such a large machine is a huge problem, according to Reddy. “These women are extremely efficient in their work and adhere to all safety regulations,” he said.
“Today’s women are no different than anyone else. All they need is a chance and some direction. She is taking care of her obligations at home while simultaneously walking shoulder to shoulder with men in a male-dominated world and bringing new perspectives to the table every day. She is not only providing financial assistance to the family but also demonstrating new work prospects for women in other difficult professions,” he added.
On this occasion, Sanjay Seth, General Manager (Badam Project), Chandrashekhar, General Manager (Mechanical Construction), Ajit Kumar, Deputy General Manager (R&R) and other senior officers were present.
