Ramgarh, June 16: A cybercriminal Virendra Saha of Sahibganj has been arrested by the Hazaribagh Police.
Virendra is accused of committing 15 to 20 cyber crimes in Hazaribagh and other places around the country. The entire state’s police force was engaged in their search for him.
The accused was found with an android phone, documents related to cybercrime, and paperwork related to linked phone pay. He was apprehended at Sahibganj.
Korra police station in-charge Uttam Kumar Tiwari confirmed the arrest. He said,” Police were getting information about fraudulent amounts of money by illegally making false claims of being an employee of State Bank of India from different areas of the city.”
On the instructions of Hazaribagh SP Manoj Ratan Chothe, an SIT was formed which was led by the Korra station in-charge of the detection of fraud related to cybercrime. In the course of the investigation, with the help of the technical branch, the SIT got information that the links of cybercrime are related to Sahibganj.
“When the SIT went to Sahibganj and raided Virendra’s hideout with the help of the local police, the accused was caught. He has been sent to judicial custody,” the Korra police station in-charge added.
The raiding team included Sub Inspector Ritesh Kumar posted at Korra police station, ASI Pradeep Kumar and the police force of the technical branch.
