Ramgarh, Mar 20: A violent clash broke out between two communities in the Ichak police station area of Hazaribagh district around 9.30 pm on Saturday night.
Around half a dozen people are said to be badly injured in this violence. The miscreants also set a shop on fire. Tension prevails in the area after the violence.
Police of various police stations including the Hazaribagh SP is camping at the spot. The entire area has been converted into a police cantonment. The police are keeping an eye on the situation.
There was a fierce stone pelting between two communities in the Ichak Bazar Tailor Mohalla of the district. Soon, the dispute escalated to such an extent that the whole area became disturbed and the joy of Holi faded away.
The miscreants set a community fruit shop on fire. This shop was located in Ichak Bazar. The people present on the spot alleged that while playing Holi, three youths were passing through the tailor locality from Kurha village riding on a bike. During this, he got into a scuffle with some other youths present there.
After that, the controversy escalated. The people of both communities gathered and the matter escalated to stone-pelting.
A large number of police forces have been deployed in the area as soon as the incident was reported. SP Manoj Ratan Chauth himself is also present at the spot and taking stock of the situation.
He appealed to the people to maintain peace. Security has been beefed up in the entire area. As a precaution, the police have also imposed Section 144.
Apart from the SP, SDM Vidyabhushan Kumar is also present at the spot. People are being advised to avoid any rumours. The SP has said that the miscreants will be identified and strict action will be taken against them. Those spreading unrest will not be spared under any circumstances. The police are also ascertaining what did the bike riders do, after which the dispute started.
