Hazaribagh: Youth dies after falling from fourth floor of Hotel Canary Inn

Ramgarh, Sept 20: The dead body of a youth named Kherwal Mandi was recovered from the famous Hotel Canary Inn located near the bus stand of Bada Bazar police station area of Hazaribagh on Monday evening. According to information, he died after falling from the fourth floor of the hotel.

The youth had been living in room number 404 since September 18. The hotel workers said that a young woman had arrived just 15 minutes before the incident. There was an altercation and fight between the two in the hotel room. During this, the youth badly beat up the girl and injured her. The girl fell unconscious after which the youth felt that the girl had died. He got scared and was trying to escape from the window of the fourth floor during which he fell and died.

 

 

Hotel workers told that as soon as the sound of something falling came, people went and saw the youth on the floor. The girl was lying injured in the room. She was immediately taken to the Medical College Hospital.

The girl is a resident of Simaria in Chatra district who was preparing for SSC by staying in a hostel in Matwari, Hazaribagh. During interrogation, it came to the fore that the girl and Kherwal Mandi met during a program in Purulia and became friends. It is alleged that Kherwal always used to blackmail her about something.

On receiving the information, Hazaribagh Sadar DSP Mahesh Prajapati reached the spot and started an investigation. The body was sent to Hazaribagh Medical College Hospital for postmortem. The police also searched the youth’s room for clues. They also questioned the girl regarding the incident in which she said that she was blackmailed by the youth into coming to meet him.
