Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday heard a petition filed by Rajesh Prasad and 53 other candidates who failed in the mains exam of the 11th JPSC. The court clarified that the ongoing recruitment process will be subject to its final order.

Direction to JPSC for Counter Affidavit

The division bench of Chief Justice and Justice Rajesh Shankar directed the JPSC counsel to file a counter affidavit before the next hearing. The bench warned that if the affidavit is not submitted in time, the commission would lose its opportunity to present its side.

Candidates Demand Re-evaluation

The petitioners, who cleared the preliminary exam but failed in the mains, demanded the cancellation of the merit list and re-checking of answer sheets. Senior Advocate Ajit Kumar and Advocate Kumar Harsh represented the petitioners, arguing that the recruitment lacked transparency.

370 Posts Under Process

Last year, JPSC released Advertisement No. 1/2024 for 370 posts. The written exam has been conducted, and the merit list published. Currently, the interview stage of the recruitment is in progress. However, the High Court’s final order is expected to determine the future course of the appointments.
