Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court will hear the petition of senior IAS officer Vinay Chaubey, accused in the Jharkhand liquor scam, on June 20. The hearing was originally scheduled for Friday and was listed in the High Court, but could not take place due to lack of time. As a result, the next hearing date has been set for June 20. The petition will be heard in the court of Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad.

Challenge to ACB Action

Vinay Chaubey has filed a petition in the High Court seeking the quashing of the FIR registered by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) against him and challenging the action taken by the ACB, including his arrest. Notably, the ACB had summoned him for questioning on May 20 in connection with the liquor scam, after which he was arrested. Currently, Vinay Chaubey is in judicial custody, and the state government has suspended him considering the serious charges leveled against him.
