Jamshedpur, June 9: Heat wave conditions would prevail in some parts of Jharkhand today, said a weather bulletin issued by the Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
Most places across Jharkhand witnessed day temperatures between 41 and 43 degree Celsius.
A severe heat wave prevailed during the past 24 hours in Giridih and Chaibasa in West Singhbhum.
Godda recorded the highest maximum temperature of 44.6 degrees Celsius while Deoghar recorded 43.3 degrees.
The local IMD observatory in Jamshedpur recorded a maximum temperature of 43.6 degrees Celsius while Daltonganj recorded 43.4 degrees Celsius.
No significant synoptic system prevails over Jharkhand, said Meteorological officials.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon has advanced into the remaining parts of the south Arabian Sea and some parts of the central Arabian Sea, the entire Lakshadweep area, most parts of Kerala, most parts of south Tamil Nadu, remaining parts of Comorin area, the Gulf of Mannar and some more parts of southwest, central and northeast Bay of Bengal.
The monsoon set in over Kerala yesterday after a delay of one week.
