Jamshedpur, Sept 30: A low pressure area over northeast and adjoining east central Bay of Bengal is likely to trigger heavy rain in several places across Jharkhand during the next three days.
IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre issued a forecast of heavy rain in south- eastern and adjoining central parts of the state today, Saturday.
Thunderstorm and lightning is also likely to occur at isolated places over the state today, said weathermen.
Tomorrow heavy rain is likely at isolated places over south-western and adjoining central parts of the state while on Monday heavy rain is likely at isolated places over north-eastern and adjoining northern parts of the state.
The low-pressure area over northeast and adjoining east central Bay of Bengal and the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 7.6 Km above mean sea level persist.
It is likely to become well marked low pressure area and move north-westwards towards north Odisha and adjoining West Bengal coasts during next 48 hours.
The rainfall activity during the next few days would bring down the rain deficit level of the state which is currently 27 per cent.
