Ranchi, June 6: The BJP is now preparing to attract the tribal society towards it by targeting the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections of 2024. Working with this aim, several senior leaders of the state including BJP National President Jay Prakash Nadda were present at the Dharti Aba Bhagwan Birsa Munda Tribal Trust rally organised at Ranchi on Sunday.

Two things dominated the Vishwas rally prominently. The first was how the Modi government has worked in the interest of tribal society. Meanwhile, the second was how the Hemant Soren government in the state has done the work of duping and looting the innocent tribals of Jharkhand. National President JP Nadda’s address from the stage of the Vishwas rally also focused on these two issues.

Nadda, while addressing the crowd said, “Today ‘corruption and commission and Hemant Soren have become synonymous’ in Jharkhand.” Furthermore, JP Nadda raised the issue of Rupa Tirkey’s murder related to tribal society and corruption of IAS Pooja Singhal and put the Hemant government in the dock.

JP Nadda said that the Hemant government reaps the benefits of work done by the BJP stating, “We work for Seva, while the opposition along with the Hemant government eats the Mewa. Today, under the power of the Hemant government, corruption has spread everywhere. It has increased so much that we can say that commission and corruption and Hemant Soren have become synonymous.”

Nadda further questioned if it is possible in any state that a Chief Minister himself takes the mines for themselves while being a Minister of Mines. He also claimed that the Soren government has given mines to his wife, brothers and relatives.

Further attacking the JMM-Congress-RJD government of the state, Nadda said, “Our leaders proudly claim the work we have done for the tribal society. On the other hand, the opposition can only make statements about the BJP cheating the tribals. There is a difference between the words and deeds of the present Hemant Soren government regarding the development of tribal society.”

Former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi, present during the tribal development rally, was addressed by JP Nadda as the leader of the legislature party. During this, State President Deepak Prakash, Union Minister Arjun Munda, Annapurna Devi, MP Samir Oraon, former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das, BJP National Secretary Asha Lakra, along with all BJP MPs and MLAs were present.

JP Nadda further said that the tribal society has been raising its voice against injustice since British rule. Leaders like Tilak Manjhi, Bhagwan Birsa Munda and Jatra Bhagat are proof of that. He also commented on Congress and said that in the political history of 70 years, Congress leaders have only done the work of duping the tribal society.

The National President further mentioned the upcoming programmes of the party with the aim of attracting tribals towards the BJP. He said that for the leaders of tribal society, BJP will take out tribal development yatra in Orissa, Bastar in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Gadchiroli in Maharashtra. Similarly, Gaurav Abhiyan is also to be run in 28 states. In the memory of the villages where people have been martyred, BJP will start the work of making them into ideal villages.

Referring to the achievements of the BJP’s government, Nadda said that eight ministers are tribals in the Modi government. 36 MPs are from Lok Sabha, and eight from Rajya Sabha are also tribals. Similarly, there are MLAs coming from a total of 190 tribal communities. Two governors and one chief minister are also tribal. This has never happened in the 70 years of Congress government, he added.

Referring to the achievements of the Modi government, JP Nadda also said that under the Har Ghar Jal Mission, the target is to reach the homes of 12 crore people. “Water has been provided to 9 crore people. This includes 1.30 crore people of the tribal community,” said Nadda.

Furthermore, he said that under the Swachh Bharat Mission, the Modi government has freed 12 crore people from open defecation, wherein 1.50 crore people belong to the tribal communities.
