Ranchi, Jan.8: Former chief minister and BJP legislature party chief Babulal Marandi suspected Chief Minister Hemant Soren of either being terrified by criminals or being surrounded by criminals.

Marandi shared the suspicion during a press conference at the party state headquarters organised to make media people aware of the party’s demand of a CBI probe into the matter of mob lynching incident reported from Kolebira in Simdega on January 4 in which a Dalit Sanju Pradhan was burnt alive by a mob of villagers.

“Hemant Soren apradhi Se ghire huye hai ya fir apradhi se dare huye hain,” Marandi said, adding ‘Agar aisa nahi hota to aisa dussahash koi nahi karta (If this had not happened none had dared to do such type of audacity’.

Marandi said under the rule of the present government “Kanoon Dikhawa Hai (law is eyewash)”.

The BJP legislature party chief, who had visited the place of occurrence on Friday and met the relatives of the victim, said that police instead of arresting the real culprit has arrested three innocents who are close relatives of the deceased and attempted to hush up the matter.

He said that the incident is a planned conspiracy and attempts are being made to dilute it with the help of a section of media reports. He went on saying that terming the incident an outcome of timber theft is wrong as the matter was settled in the month of October by the forest officials who reached the residence of the victim and had already taken the timber.
