Ramgarh, March 27: Once again the deadly terror attack of elephants have returned. A herd of elephants has once again caused loss of life and property in Gola. A herd of three elephants is present in the Sirka forest of Khokha village of Gola block. These elephants killed a woman in Khokha early morning on Monday, while a person has been seriously injured.
Poonam Devi, wife of Chandranath Mahto, Khokha Gola was crushed to death by elephants in the early morning while she was picking mahua in the forest. The herd of elephants also seriously injured 28-year-old Roshan Lal Mahto, a resident of Purana Sirka. The forest department received the information from the villagers and reached the spot.
The Forest Department team reached the spot and removed the body of the woman. As immediate help, an amount of ? 15000 was given to the relatives of the deceased family.
Three elephants are still present in the forest of Sirka village. They can create problems if they come towards the village. The Forest Department team should initiate immediate action to drive away the elephants. The people of the village are scared of the elephants. Every year there is havoc and terror of elephants in the wild areas of Gola due to which people are upset.
