New Delhi: The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have released a video claiming that the militant group Hezbollah has been hiding weapons in populated areas across Lebanon, particularly in the southern region, which has become a launch pad for attacks on Israel. The video, shared on social media platform X, details IDF strikes deep inside Lebanon and alleges that Hezbollah has built its terror network within civilian homes.
“For the last 20 years, Hezbollah built its terror network within population centres in Lebanon,” the IDF stated in the video. “Hezbollah doesn’t want you to watch this video. And they really don’t want you to share it.”
The IDF’s video appears to be an effort to address potential criticism over strikes in heavily populated areas. The Israel Defence Forces claimed that their operations aim to thwart imminent attacks planned by Hezbollah, who they accuse of hiding weapons intended to target Israeli homes.

Defensive Operations Against Hezbollah
The IDF described its military action as a “defensive operation”, using precise, intelligence-based strikes on hundreds of Hezbollah targets. “Our goal is to make sure that Israeli families can safely and securely return to their homes,” the IDF said.
In a significant escalation, Israel bombed a Hezbollah commander’s location in Beirut’s southern suburbs, according to a source close to the group. The attack, which marks the fourth such strike in a week, targeted Hezbollah commanders amid rising tensions between the two sides.
The security source, speaking anonymously, confirmed that the commander was targeted in the latest Israeli strike, which follows several days of precision raids in the Lebanese capital.
