Dhanbad, Aug 22: A seven-member high-level committee of the Railway Board will inspect and assess the available facilities for passengers at nine railway stations under the Dhanbad Rail Division of East Central Railway  (ECR) from Wednesday.

As per the letter of Sumeet Singh, director TC cum secretary Passenger Service Committee (PSC), the team in its three-day tour of Jharkhand would visit and inspect Koderma, Hazaribagh Road, Barkakana railway stations (on August 24) Garhwa Road, Chopan, Singrauli railway stations (August 25), Parasnath, Gomoh and Dhanbad railway stations of Dhanbad Rail Division on August 26.

The committee members are Shivraj Kumar Gandge, Sanjeev Narayan Desai, (Mrs) Surma Padhy, Ettumanoor, Radhakrishnan Dugyala Pradeep Kumar, Tushar Kanti Ghosh and Gurvinder Singh Sethi.

Sumeet Singh has directed the East Central Railway zone as well as Dhanbad Railway division authorities to depute senior officers with the committee and ensure all necessary arrangements of security and transport for the committee at all locations (railway stations) during the inspection.

The divisional railway officers would have to take notes of the inspection and photos of the visit. The report would have to send within 15 days of inspection. A  soft copy of the report would be handed over to PSC member Gurvinder Singh Sethi.

All India FCI VSS Employees Association has welcomed the step of inspecting railway stations under the Dhanbad rail division. Association’s president Sewa Singh said that the visit of this committee would solve perennial basic problems being faced by passengers at these railway stations.

“General manager (GM)  of the zonal railway and divisional manager (DRM)  have no knowledge of ground level problem passengers face at railway stations as they keep themselves confine in AC room office.  A delegation of Association would meet the Committee at all railway stations and give feedback of facilities to them,” said Sewa Singh.
