Daltonganj, Jan 6: Two migrant workers in Chandwa block, who had come from Himachal Pradesh, had a harrowing time at the community health centre Chandwa in Latehar district.

These returnees had visited the Chandwa CHC for their Covid test. They were asked to wait for 10-20 more people to come when the Covid test would be conducted.

Sources said this wait was illegitimate and irked the two who then raised this issue in a restrained manner leading to their Covid test.

Medical officer in charge of the CHC Chandwa Dr N K Pandey told lagatar24.com today that he has served show cause notice to the errant lab technician for causing delay and inconvenience to people desirous to have Covid test done on them.

He said the two persons were unnecessarily made to wait upon by the lab technician of the CHC Chandwa. Covid test is done on the spur of the moment. It is individual-based. There is no need to wait for 10 or 20 people to assemble for the Covid test.

He agreed the lab technician is erred and he has been reprimanded for his misconduct and unprofessionalism.

On the other hand, a Latehar health official Ved Prakash informed that on January 5, the district had 30 new positive cases of Covid, taking the total number of active cases to 66 which are in rising mode.
