Ranchi, Sept.10: Broad daylight murder accused Ali surrendered before a city court following police pressure. After he surrendered, the court forwarded him to Birsa Munda Central Jail in 14-day judicial custody.
Ali had shot dead Altaf following a dispute over a plot on July 14 this year near Pantaloon showroom in Hinoo under Doranda police station area. Senior superintendent of police S.K.Jha constituted a team to nab those involved in the incident.
Police arrested as many as 10 and recovered three pistols and 11 live cartridges from their possession. Main accused Altaf was at large despite police efforts. Finally, when the police started tightening its noose around him, he surrendered to evade arrest.
