Raipur, Oct 22: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday said in the meeting of SPs and IGs of all the districts in the state that hookah bars should be completely banned in the state. Drug trade should not be allowed to flourish in the state, he added.

“Superintendent of Police should take strict action. Do not allow intoxicants coming from other states to enter Chhattisgarh, not even a leaf of ganja should be allowed to enter Chhattisgarh from other states,” said the CM.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister further said that communal and chaotic elements are trying to give big shape to small incidents. He ordered the Superintendent of Police of all the districts to identify them and develop their intelligence system, by saying that incidents have a direct impact on the peace and order of the state and the image of the government. For this, the CM has asked all the SPs to form a special team for social media monitoring in every district to identify those spreading rumors on social media and take action.

Notably, on October 3, there was a violent clash in Kawardha. Some people of BJP have also been accused in this incident. Without mentioning the incident, the CM said a lot in gestures.

CM Bhupesh Baghel said in this meeting that our government has done unprecedented work in the field of education, health and employment. Peace is essential for development. He said that it is necessary to have proper coordination between the Collector and the SP. Collector-SP should visit their district together 4-5 times in a month. He said that maintaining law and order is your biggest responsibility. The presence of the district administration should be visible at every level. In this meeting, officers informed that there has been a 32% reduction in murder cases as compared to 2011 and there has been a 37% reduction in attempt to murder as compared to 2011.
