Dhanbad, Sept 22: Senior BJP leader and Jharkhand in-charge Laxmikant Vajpayee, while underplaying the impact of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, said that the person who could not save his house (division of his party) in Goa, how would unite the country.
Vajpayee, who was addressing the media persons at Dhanbad circuit house on Wednesday evening, said that it is a million-dollar question that those who failed to save his party in Goa during Bharat Jodo Yatra has set out for uniting the country.
“I don’t think his Yatra will impact the election results,” said Jharkhand in-charge, who in his maiden visit reached Dhanbad from Dumka in the evening en route to Ranchi.
The Jharkhand BJP in-charge said that he has come to the state with the sole mission of bringing back the BJP in Jharkhand in the 2024 election.
The senior BJP leader of Uttar Pradesh said that he would repeat the BJP’s 2014 Lok Sabha performance of UP in Jharkhand. “I was the UP unit president when the party won 73 seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha election. Same would be done in Jharkhand along with state leaders and workers,” he said.
Vajpayee said that he has the responsibility of taking a lesson from the past to handle the future of Jharkhand. So he would work under the leadership of workers to achieve the mission.
In a query, he clarified that he has come for organizational work and not political. Local leaders at the district and state level would take political decisions of the party and he would not get involved in that.
