Hyva truck driver burnt alive in Jharkhand’s Latehar district

Daltonganj, Feb 23: A driver was burnt alive when a hyva truck was torched at Phulbasiya coal siding under the Baariyatu police station in Latehar district last night.

The Officer-in-charge of the adjoining police station Balumath, Prashant Sinha, said the gory incident took place at around 10.30 last night in which a hyva was put on fire and later the police found the driver was burnt to death in the driver’s seat.

Contacted, Balumath SDPO Ajit Kumar said he would need some more time to give the details of this crime.

The Police have begun its investigation. The area is prone to extremism where the JJMP calls the shots. Besides, Maoists are also a big force to reckon with.
