I-T dept conducts raids in Ranchi, Deoghar in Gunda Bank, illegal purchase and sale of jewellery case

Ranchi, Aug 24: A team of Bihar Income Tax Department has been raiding half a dozen locations of Ranchi and Deoghar in Jharkhand since Wednesday morning in connection with illegal purchase and sale of Gunda banks and jewellery. It is reported that this raid of Income Tax Department Bihar is going on in other states also. However, the officials of the department are refraining from revealing anything at the moment.

Income Tax Department sources said that the matter related to wrongful possession and sale of land is called Goonda Bank in the language of Income Tax, on which the department has taken major action. Most of the cases related to this are being reported in Deoghar.

Similarly, in the case of sale and purchase of jewellery without valid documents, raids of Income Tax Bihar are also going on at the premises of some jewelers.

According to sources in the Income Tax Department, the Income Tax Department has identified people who have raised assets worth crores through Gunda Bank. The department has identified many such people who have bought not one or two but more than a dozen properties in their names.
