Lucknow, Sept 13: As part of a tax evasion investigation into Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan and individuals connected to him, the Income-tax department conducted raids at around 30 locations in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, official sources stated.
In addition to several locations in the neighbouring state of Madhya Pradesh, the searches are taking place in Rampur, Saharanpur, Lucknow, Ghaziabad, and Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, they stated.
According to sources, the income tax investigation pertains to certain trusts run by Khan and his family members.
