Ranchi, March 4: “I want to run this hospital according to the rule of law, but this is causing trouble to some doctors working here,” said Dr. Kameshwar Prasad, Director of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), during a press conference held at the administrative building of the state-run hospital today.

During the conference, the director discussed the arrangement of RIMS and further action plans. He said that RIMS management has given the responsibility of the operation of Jan Aushadhi Kendra to Bindhya Medical through open tender. 600 types of medicines are available here for the patients. Patients are getting a 7 per cent discount from MRP here.

On the other hand, on the matter of doctors writing branded medicines, the RIMS director said, “If there are such things, then inform the medical superintendent about it. Legal action will be taken against doctors who prescribe branded medicine.”

“The timing of doctors is from 9 am to 5 pm and in this period if they are found absent then the salary will be deducted. There is also dissatisfaction among the doctors with the induction of the CT Scan machine and soon there will be one more CT Scan machine installed on the premises. We have also ordered an MRI machine which will be installed in the upcoming days,” he said.

“As per the IIT Kanpur prediction the fourth of Covid-19 will arrive in June and before that, we will be having a genome sequencing machine because of which we will be able to identify the strain here only,” he further said.

On the reinstatement of nurses in the hospital, RIMS Director Dr Kameshwar Prasad said that the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has been given the responsibility for the restoration. “Restoration will be done by them only and requisition details have been sent to JSSC for 370 posts of nurses,” he added.

RIMS Director said that the payment of arrears of the 7th pay scale will be done soon to the doctors. Doctors have to be paid arrears up to 35 lakhs. 5 lakh will be paid every six months. 16,59,34,443 will be paid in this.
