New Delhi, Jan 5: Ishan Kishan, the Indian opener, moved up 10 ranks to land at a batsman position 23 in the most recent ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings released Thursday.

Deepak Hooda, the series’ Player of the Match, rose 40 spots to rank 97th among batters in the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings, which takes into consideration performances in the first game of the series between India and Sri Lanka played in Mumbai. Another bowler who rose in the rankings is Hardik Pandya, who rose nine spots to 76th.

Wanindu Hasaranga, an all-arounder for Sri Lanka, has risen to sixth place among all-rounders, while Dasun Shanaka and Chamika Karunaratne, respectively, have climbed the list for batters and bowlers.

After hitting 85 in his team’s innings and defeating South Africa by 182 runs in the second game of their ICC World Test Championship series in Melbourne, Australia batter Steve Smith has passed Pakistan skipper Babar Azam to take over the second spot in the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings.

Babar, who also received seven rating points in the most recent weekly update to reach a career-best 882 points after scoring 161 and 14 in a high-scoring drawn first Test against New Zealand in Karachi, is just one rating point ahead of Smith.

Smith is 42 rating points behind his teammate Marnus Labuschagne, the former top-ranked hitter who was passed by Babar last month. As Australia continues to place three of its batters in the top four, Travis Head sits in the fourth spot.

David Warner, who was named Player of the Match at the MCG for a knock of 200, has advanced 17 spots to position 14, while Alex Carey, a century, has moved up 19 spots to position 28, and all-rounder Cameron Green has moved up seven spots to position 39. Among those who advanced in the bowlers’ rankings were spinner Nathan Lyon (up one spot to 11th), seamers Scott Boland (up four spots to 39th), and Green (up 16 spots to 65th).

Fast bowler Andre Nortje has progressed five spots to 19th among bowlers for South Africa, while Kyle Verreynne has climbed from 60th to 48th among batsmen.

In addition, New Zealander Daryl Mitchell has climbed into the top 10 and teammate Kane Williamson has moved up to fifth place after an unbroken 200 boosted him two spots. After making a century in the first innings of the Karachi Test, opener Tom Latham has climbed seven spots to position 20, while Devon Conway has climbed 11 spots to position 24 with innings of 92 and 18 not out.

Imam-ul-Haq, the left-handed opening batsman for Pakistan, has climbed three positions to position 34 after scoring 24 and 96, and Saud Shakeel has climbed eight positions to position 50.
