New Delhi, March 9: After the historic all-round performance in India’s stunning triumph over Sri Lanka in the first of a two-Test series in Mohali, ravindra Jadeja returned to the top of the ICC Test Rankings for all-rounders on Wednesday.
With his match-winning performance in the Mohali Test, Jadeja went up two ranks to displace Jason Holder at the top of the all-rounder rankings, while R Ashwin slid to No. 3 from No. 2.
In India’s first innings, Ravindra Jadeja got 175 not out, his highest Test score, breaking Kapil Dev’s record for most runs scored at No. 7 for India in Tests. As India won by an innings and 222 runs, he returned to take 9 wickets, including a 5-wicket haul in the first innings.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, the former captain, has moved up two spaces in the batting order to No. 5. Captain Rohit Sharma fell to sixth place after failing to bother the scorers in his first Test as captain. Meanwhile, after a quickfire 96 in the Mohali Test, Rishabh Pant has gone into the top ten.
