Ranchi, Nov 20: The Center for Civilization Studies, Delhi, Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts, Ranchi and Ranchi University, organised a two-day National Seminar on ‘Tribal Devalok and Religious Traditions’ was organised at Aryabhata Auditorium in Ranchi under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Over 32 tribal groups residing in Jharkhand and a few rare tribes along with several distinguished guests arrived from all over India were present. Padma Shri Ashok Bhagat was present on the occasion as chief guest, while Ravi Shankar, Dr Satyendra Singh, Dr Anand Vardhan, Dr Ajit Sinha, Dr Diwakar Minj, Director of Civilization Study Center were present as special guests.
The programme was mainly divided into four sessions, wherein after the inauguration, the second session saw the discussion over the concept of Jharkhand’s Tribal Devloka. In the third session, the tribal religious and ritual topics of Jharkhand were discussed, while the fourth session saw the topic of Jharkhand’s tribes and religious places relations being discussed over.
Chief guest Ashok Bhagat said that today the whole world talks about giving high place to women, however, the message of women empowerment comes from tribal traditions.
Remembering Sardar Patel during the programme, Prof Anand Vadhin highlighted the role of Sardar Patel in nation building and fighting against external forces.
Researchers from the tribal community expressed their research papers and ideas.
The programme was mainly attended by guiding scholar guests of the country, as well as people from 32 tribes living in Jharkhand along with assistant professors, research scholars and students of the college and university.
