Ranchi, June 29: In collaboration with the Aarambha Foundation and the Airport Authority of India, IIM Ranchi took the initiative to establish a “Community Library” at Birsa Munda Airport.

The Community Library was officially opened today in the presence of IIM director Deepak Kumar Srivastava and airport director K. L. Aggarwal. Their participation reaffirmed their commitment to fostering a culture of learning and knowledge-sharing.

The library’s goal is to provide an enriching and intellectually stimulating experience for all passengers by allowing them to use their waiting time to read books, foster new ideas, and gain positive inspiration.

It is open to all passengers and offers a diverse selection of books in a variety of genres. It is expected to become a focal point for intellectual engagement, encouraging people to broaden their horizons and experiment with new ideas.
Recognising the transformative power of books, IIM Ranchi believes they can spark profound changes and contribute to individuals’ personal and professional development. The concept of a community library is consistent with IIM Ranchi’s 2030 strategic plan and reinforces the institute’s commitment to engaging with citizens through various forums, such as drumming, dance, and dialogue, as part of its Human Connect Initiative.

IIM Ranchi sees its institutional responsibility as the dissemination of management ideas and the cultivation of deep reflections among citizens. IIM Ranchi hopes to facilitate the spread of knowledge and create meaningful experiences for Ranchi Airport passengers by establishing this free community library.

The Aarambha Foundation, known for its social initiatives, was instrumental in bringing this project to fruition. Their knowledge and commitment to literacy and education have been critical to the Community Library’s success.

Birsa Munda Airport has long been a pioneer in embracing new ideas, and the addition of the Community Library marks yet another milestone in its journey. The library is poised to improve the overall passenger experience by providing an engaging and intellectually stimulating environment.
