Ramgarh, Jan. 8: Information of road accidents on the national highway and areas including Chutupalu, Pithoria and other valley areas of Ramgarh district will now be updated on the iRAD (Integrated Road Application Database) app.
Police officers of the district were informed about the app in the SP office. The app is maintained by IIT Chennai.
IIT Chennai’s DRM Upendra Prasad said, “This app has been made on the instructions of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The officers related to police, transport like DTO, MVI, officers attached to highway and in-charge of a hospital, civil surgeons will update the information related to accidents on this app. DSP Sanjeev Kumar Mishra has been made its nodal officer.”
The DRM further said that the police are the first to arrive at the road accidents’ spots. If the police do not reach, the injured person or the deceased reaches the hospital with the help of local people. The NHAI officials also reach the sites of accidents. The information of damaged vehicles in accidents is kept in the DTO and MVI offices.
As soon as the information of accidents is received with all these officers, they will update the name, age, full address of the victim, the number of injured or the deceased and the name of the place where the accident took place in the iRAD app.
The central government will get information about the places on highways that are more prone to accidents through this app. There will also be a review of the measures to be taken to secure the places where extreme accidents are reported.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is very sensitive about how to save people’s lives in road accidents.
