IIT ISM Dhanbad: Annual Skill Convocation concludes

Dhanbad, Oct 12: The live streaming of the Kaushal Dikshant Samaroh-Annual Skill Convocation ceremony was held today at the Golden Jubilee Lecture Theatre of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad from AICTE Auditorium, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.

Prof Dheeraj Kumar, Deputy Director; Prof Rajni Singh, Dean of Media & Branding; Prof DP Mishra, Head of the Department of Mining Engineering and Prof Sunil Kumar, Coordinator of the Skill Development Programme at IIT (ISM) were also present at the occasion.

Altogether 27 beneficiaries of the 16-week Assistant Mine Surveyor Training Course conducted under Prime Minister Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY 4.0) were also felicitated during the convocation and certificates were handed over to them.

Anish Kumar, a resident of Bhuli who is one of the beneficiaries of the Assistant Mine Surveyor Training Course, also received the certificate during the Kaushal Dikshant Samaroh- Annual Skill Convocation Ceremony held at AICTE Auditorium Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.

An official said that IIT (ISM) has been selected as the nodal centre for the “Assistant Mine Surveyor” Training Course by the National Skill Development Corporation under PMKVY 4.0 for enhancing the employability of the youth. The institute has the target to impart training to 300 candidates during the 2023-24 period.

The 16-week training of 330 hours was inaugurated on April 17 this year for any unemployed youth and college dropouts having 10+2 or equivalent educational qualification of the age group of 20 to 45 years. Out of 78 applications received by the institute for the first session of training, 53 were selected for the program and were provided training in three separate batches.

The tentative session for the next session of training is from 6th November 2023 to 15th February 2024.
