Dhanbad, Sept 11: IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad today signed an MoU with Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT) Ranchi to promote an innovation start-up ecosystem.
Prof J K Pattanayak, director of IIT ISM on behalf of IIT (ISM) and Prof DK Singh, Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT) signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institution.
An IIT ISM official said that as per the provisions of the MoU, IIT (ISM) will also carry out mentoring of various institutes coming under the purview of JUT, including the institutes carrying out teaching of PG courses, B Tech as well as Diploma courses.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Prof Dheeraj Kumar, deputy director of IIT ISM. The official said the MoU will facilitate the promotion of the innovation start-up ecosystem at JUT through the resources available with various section 8 pioneer companies of IIT ISM, including Atal Community Innovation Centre (ACIC), Technology Innovation in Exploration and Mining Foundation (TEXMiN) and Naresh Vashisht Centre for Tinkering and Innovation (NVCTI).
“Over 100 start-ups are presently being promoted through various section 8 companies of IIT (ISM), including ACIC, TEXMiN and NVCTI,” the official said.
