IIT ISM Dhanbad STEM robotics camp:  SSLNT Women’s College emerges champ

Dhanbad, June 6: Students of SSLNT Women’s College emerged winner in the mobile robotics rovers designing contest organized by Naresh Vashisht Centre for Tinkering and Innovation (NVCTI), IIT  Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad.

The contest was organized as a part of the four-day STEM Robotics summer camp by IIT ISM which concluded today.

The students of SNN High School Bagsuma and Gandhi Smarak Adivasi +2 High School Govindpur won second and third prizes respectively in the robotics design contest. The IIT ISM officials said more than 50 students of class VIII to XII of 10 different schools and colleges took part in the four days camp during which they got the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Apart from the three winning teams, the seven other teams including Project Girls High School Govindpur, DAV High School Jharia, Middle School Kurchi, Mother Teresa High School Sindri, Gandhi Smarak Adivasi +2 High School, Yadavpur, +2 High School Govindpur and a second team of SNN High School, Bagsuma took part in the contest.

The camp cum workshop provided an opportunity for the participants to experience the hands-on practical on mobile robots, to showcase cutting edge technology, collaborative problem-solving activities, application on sensor technology, coding on critical thinking, experience on  Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) technology and practical application of internet of things.

Two experienced experts provided hands-on training to the participants during the free-of-cost residential workshop organized for the first time by the institute.
