Dhanbad, July 1: Ministry of Mines, Government of India, has selected Dr Bhabesh Chandra Sarkar, the senior professor department of applied geology at IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad for the National Geoscience Award 2019.
The award would be given to professor Sarkar at the award presentation ceremony at Dr Ambedkar International Centre, 15 Janpath New Delhi on July 12.
Alok Tandon, the secretary ministry of mines department government of India, has in this regard issued a notification about the selection of Dr Bhabesh Chandra Sarkar for the prestigious National Geoscience Award.
“The ministry of mines government of India is confident that you will continue your research work in the interest of scientific and economic growth of the country,” said Alok Tandon, secretary ministry of mines in his letter.
Within a week, this is the second prestigious award for Dr B C Sarkar. On June 27, the Mining Engineering Association of India (MEAI) awarded him the MEAI Service Excellence Award 2021 at Bengaluru for his extraordinary contribution to the field of mining engineering.
