Dhanbad, Aug 26: TEXMiN (Technology Innovation in Exploration & Mining) Foundation of IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad has tied up with Carlson Software Inc to set up world class lab in India for providing technology support to the mining industry.
An IIT ISM official said that the objective of this lab would be to promote digitalisation, research, skill development, promote start-up ecosystem and new technology development in the field of mining, advance surveying, and related industry.
As a technology solution partner, Carlson Software Inc will provide learning through its state of art hardware and software to support the industrial and startup ecosystem with focus on mapping, monitoring, and surveying.
The IIT ISM official said in present time surveying technology has undergone revolutionized changes. With the innovations in tools, and technologies leading to mass and rapid production from the mine, the job or surveyors has increased manifold.
This can only be achieved by accelerating the advance practices in the mine surveying technology.
“We are excited to collaborate with Carlson for setting up the TEXMiN – Carlson Lab and giving professionals and mining community at large the opportunity to experience and enhance the technological know-how that is required for delegating responsibilities efficiently,” said Prof Dheeraj Kumar, deputy director of IIT ISM cum director TEXMin.
Prof Kumar further added that TEXMiN is committed to train the new generation of innovators, startups, and professionals with future-ready innovation technologies.
