Acting on a confidential tip-off, the authorities raided the premises on Sunday and seized a massive stockpile of counterfeit liquor valued at ₹25 lakh. The raid resulted in the arrest of Binu Lal Tudu, who was allegedly operating the illicit factory.
According to the Assistant Commissioner of Excise, Ramlila Ravani, the raid led to the recovery of 250 cartons of fake foreign liquor, including popular brands like Imperial Blue, and 500 liters of raw spirit. Additionally, materials such as labels, bottle wrappers, corks, and packaging tools used for rebranding and refilling the counterfeit alcohol were also found on-site. The illicit liquor was allegedly being prepared for illegal distribution during the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections.
