Illegal mining: ED raid continues in Sahibganj, five weapons seized

Ranchi, July 9: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) continued the search and seizure operation in Sahibganj on Saturday. Well-placed sources claimed that the officials are searching the premises of five close aides of Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s representative Pankaj Mishra.

 

As per the sources, raids are going on at the residence of Krishna Sao at Barharwa, Dahu Yadav at Sohanpur, Chhotu Yadav at Sahibganj town besides Bhagwan Bhagat and Bhabhesh Bhagat at Barharwa. The ED team is yet to open an iron chest at the house of Dahu Yadav who has emerged as the prime suspect after Pankaj Mishra. The ED team is looking for him. He is said to be in Guwahati to offer prayers at Kamakhya temple.

 

Other than cash and documents during the ongoing raids starting on Friday, the ED is believed to have recovered three pistols and two rifles from the premises of one of the suspects.

 

The ED on Friday carried out a massive raid at the residence of Pankaj Mishra and his associates. They include Dahu Yadav, Chhotu Yadav Sonu Singh, Sunil Yadav, Bacchu Yadav, Raju Bhagat, Patru Singh, Twinkle Bhagat, Krishna Sao, Nimai Seal, Subroto Pal, Bhagwan Bhagat, Kanhaiya Khudania Sanjay Diwan and Bhabhesh Bhagat.
