Dhanbad, Dec 25: Dr AK Singh of Dhanbad and Dr Pradeep Kumar Singh of Ranchi have been re-elected president and secretary respectively of Jharkhand chapter of the Indian Medical Association for 2021-23 session today.
Dr AK Singh ,who has been elected for the 4th term, got the highest votes (92) while two other candidates for the post of president Dr RL Agrawal (Jamshedpur) and Dr RP Srivastava (Bokaro) got 48 and 40 votes respectively.
Dr Pradeep Kumar Singh of Ranchi have been re-elected as the state IMA Secretary for the third continuous term. He defeated his challenger Dr Prabhat Kumar of Rajendra Institute of Medical science (RIMS) Ranchi by 31 votes. Dr Singh got 105 votes while Dr Kumar pulled 76 votes.
For the post of vice-president (Kolhan division), Dr KK Sehgal of Jamshedpur was declared as the winner. He defeated Vijay Kumar Bakhala of Jamshedpur.
Ajay Kumar Prasad defeated Dr Ashok Kumar Singh of Jamshedpur for the post of Joint Secretary.
Dr AK Singh and Dr Pradeep kumar Singh after declaration of result said that IMA has major challenges ahead to face and the newly elected body along with all the members of the association will work together for the welfare of doctors and better health services in state.
Counting of votes was done at IMA Building in Ranchi. Dr S Prasad of Ranchi was appointed as the chief election officer and was assisted by Dr GD Prasad, Dr Lall Majhi, Dr A Mohan and Dr Shambhu Prasad Singh as election officers.
