Jamshedpur, June 3: If the IMD predictions are any indications, light rainfall along with thunder and gusty wind with 30-40 Kmph is expected over the state in the next few days.
Cumulatively below normal rainfall is predicted for this week as per IMD forecast. Second half of next week would witness light to moderate rainfall on account of pre-monsoon currents over the state.
A duty officer at IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre said conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into some more parts of central and North Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of north-eastern states and some parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 48- hours.
The cyclonic circulation over southeast Uttar Pradesh and its neighbourhood persist and now extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
A weather analyst in Ranchi said as per Doppler radar readings southwest monsoon is expected to arrive well within its scheduled time in Jharkhand.
He went on to say that the discomfort index (which is calculated based on temperature, wind and humidity) in most parts of the state would be more than its normal limits during the next one week.
