Jamshedpur, July 5: If the IMD predictions are any indications, light rainfall along with thunder and lightning is expected over the state today. Weathermen ruled out possibility of heavy rainfall till Thursday.
A weather analyst in Ranchi said as per Doppler radar readings southwest monsoon activity would be subdued till Thursday. He went on to say that the discomfort index (which is calculated based on temperature, wind and humidity) in most parts of the state would be more than its normal limits today and on Wednesday due to restricted rainfall activity.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 31 degree Celsius in Ranchi on Tuesday while Jamshedpur and other parts of Kolhan region will witness maximum reading between 32 -33 degree Celsius.
Jharkhand was still facing rainfall deficit of 40 per cent. Against normal rainfall of 226.3 mm, the state as a whole has so far after the advent of monsoon received 136.2 mm.
