Jamshedpur, June 27: The Ranchi Meteorological Centre of IMD issued a forecast of light to moderate rain at many places across Jharkhand on Tuesday.

In some places, the rain is expected to be accompanied by thunder and lightning because of the formation of convective clouds.

According to a sector-wise forecast issued by the Met department after analysing the satellite pictures and wind chart light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is expected at many places across Jharkhand today.

The forecast suggests no significant change in maximum temperature.

The maximum temperature of Ranchi is expected to be 31 degrees Celsius today while in Jamshedpur the day’s reading is expected to be around 33 degrees Celsius.

In Daltonganj, the Palamu headquarters and Deoghar, the temple city the day’s reading will be slightly higher at around 36 degrees Celsius today.

The weather outlook also suggested light to moderate rain at most places over the state.

According to weather department officials, the monsoon rainfall activity over the state has reduced leading to a deficit of 44 per cent.

Rain statistics suggested that the state has so far after the onset of monsoon actually received 89.3 mm against a normal of 160.2 mm, a deficit of 44 per cent.

Weathermen are keeping their fingers crossed as in absence of heavy rain it will be difficult to recover the deficit.
