Jamshedpur, Jan 11: One can look for some respite from the severe cold that the state has been experiencing for the last few days. IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre predicted a rise in minimum reading by three to four degree Celsius in the next 72- hours.

No significant synoptic condition prevails over Jharkhand. Only Westerly to North-Westerly wind prevails over the state.

Weathermen said the minimum reading would witness a rise due to the impact of a Western Disturbance prevailing as a trough in middle tropospheric levels with its axis at 5.8 Km above mean sea level.

Notably, Khunti, Ramgarh, Simdega and its adjoining areas recorded 5-6 degree Celsius today. Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Giridih and several places in Kolhan recorded minimum temperatures between 8 and 10 degrees.

The minimum temperature hovered around seven degree Celsius at Daltonganj and several other districts of north-western Jharkhand.
