Jamshedpur, Aug 26: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre predicted thunder showers and lightning in isolated pockets of Jharkhand today.
Weathermen said possibility of rainfall activity is more towards north-eastern and southern parts of Jharkhand.
The western end of monsoon trough lies along the foothills of the Himalayas.
However, its eastern end passes through Gorakhpur, Patna, Bankura, Digha and thence south-eastwards to east-central Bay of Bengal at mean sea level.
The cyclonic circulation over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim was today lying over north Bangladesh and its neighbourhood extending upto 1.5 Km above mean sea level with trough aloft roughly along Long. 88°E to the north of Lat. 20°N between 3.1 and 5.8 Km above mean sea level.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was observed at many places while heavy rain was also recorded at isolated places over the state during the past 24- hours.
