Jamshedpur, April 25: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued an alert for thunderstorms and rain in northern and central Jharkhand today.
Weathermen said the thunderstorm and rain are likely to be accompanied by strong surface wind blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 Kmph.
Satellite pictures indicated that a low pressure trough was running from the cyclonic circulation over central Madhya Pradesh to the cyclonic circulation over the south interior
Tamilnadu across interior Maharashtra and Karnataka at 0.9 Km above the mean sea level.
Meteorological statistics suggested that light to moderate rain with thunderstorms occurred at a few places over the state during the past 24 hours.
The highest rainfall recorded was 26.9 mm at Maithon DVC (Dhanbad). The highest maximum temperature of 35.2°C was recorded at Daltonganj while the lowest minimum temperature of 18.2°C was recorded at Ramgarh.
Weathermen at Patna Meteorological Centre, which too monitors weather conditions of Jharkhand said light rain or thunderstorm is likely to take place at isolated places over north and adjoining central parts of the state this evening.
A forecast of light rain and a thunderstorm was also issued for isolated places over south-West, north and adjoining central parts of the state for tomorrow, April 26.
