Jamshedpur, March 16: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning of hailstorm in isolated areas of Jharkhand after the next 24 hours.
Today thunderstorm and lightning accompanied by strong surface wind gusting up to 30-40 Kmph is likely at isolated places over the state.
On Friday, the hailstorm activity is expected to take place especially in eastern and central parts of Jharkhand after 3 pm, said a weather department official.

The Western Disturbance as a trough in the mid-troposphere was hovering with its axis at 5.8 Km above mean sea level. The trough from Jharkhand to Telangana was running from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to south Odisha across Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand extending up to 1.5 Km above mean sea level. Met statistics suggested that dry weather prevailed over the state during the past 24 hours.
The highest maximum temperature of 37.9°C was recorded at Jamshedpur while the lowest minimum temperature of 14.6°C was recorded at Simdega.
