Jamshedpur, June 5: The worst is yet to come.

IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued an alert of heat wave and Loo in most parts of Jharkhand during the next 72- hours.

” In absence of rain, weather condition this summer  is expected to be severe in the next few days. We have issued an alert of heat wave as well as Loo. The maximum temperature in several places is expected to be five degree Celsius above normal, ” said an official at the Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

The impact  of heat wave would be more felt in north- eastern parts of the state in the next two days beginning today, Monday.

On Wednesday and Thursday an alert of scattered heat wave have been issued by the Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

The Ranchi Meteorological Centre also issued a Do and Don’t and appealed people across the state to avoid going out between 11 am and 3 pm.

It also asked people to wear loose, cotton,  light coloured clothes and also use caps or cover the head and face while travelling out.

The Meteorological office also asked people to drink  sufficient water for preventing dehydration.

Today’s satellite pictures suggested a north-south trough running from north Bihar to the cyclonic circulation over south Chhattisgarh across Jharkhand at 0.9 Km above mean sea level. But, it won’t have any impact on Jharkhand.

Weathermen predicted dry and clear weather in Jharkhand with an upward trend in temperatures during the next three to four days.

Meteorological statistics revealed that most places across Jharkhand recorded day’s temperature of around 40 degree Celsius on Sunday.

Deoghar topped the chart with 43.3 degree Celsius while Palamu headquarters,  Daltonganj recorded 42 degree Celsius. Jamshedpur and its adjoining areas recorded around 41 degree Celsius.
