Jamshedpur, July 29: Most parts of the state are expected to experience light rains today, said a bulletin issued by IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre.
Weathermen said except for a few districts in northern Jharkhand most places would experience rain below 10 mm.
As the monsoon trough was passing through Daltonganj, the intensity of rain would be a bit more in northern Jharkhand.
The bulletin also suggests thunder and lightning in a few isolated pockets.
Meanwhile, the poor monsoon activity has resulted in a huge rain deficit which today stood at 50 per cent.
Against a normal of 478.3 mm, the state has so far received rainfall of 237.1 mm, a deficit of 50 per cent.
The local forecast for Ranchi and its adjoining districts suggests a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
