Jamshedpur, March 30: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued an alert of Nor’wester in isolated parts of Jharkhand today.
The Nor’wester will result in thunderstorm and lightning accompanied by strong surface wind gusting up to 30-40 kmph at isolated places especially over southern and adjoining central parts of the state. Thunderstorm and lightning accompanied by strong surface wind gusting upto 40-50 Kmph is also expected at isolated places over the state tomorrow, Friday.
On Friday, an alert for hailstorm was also issued at isolated places over the south-west and adjoining central parts of the state.
Thunderstorm/ lightning accompanied by strong surface wind gusting upto 30-40 Kmph is also expected at isolated places over the state on Saturday, April 1.
The low-pressure trough was today running from Sub Himalayan West Bengal to north Odisha across Gangetic West Bengal at 0.9 Km above mean sea level.
Very light rain with thunderstorm occurred at isolated places over the state during the past 24 hours. The highest rainfall recorded was 1 mm at Manjhari (West Singbhum).
The highest maximum temperature of 36.4°C was recorded at Chaibasa while the lowest minimum temperature of 18.3°C was recorded at Simdega.
