Jamshedpur, May 23: Several parts of Jharkhand especially the southeastern and northeastern regions are expected to witness heavy rain tomorrow, predicted IMD’s Ranchi Met Center on Monday
According to weathermen, an east-western trough running from a cyclonic circulation over southwest Uttar Pradesh to Jharkhand across southeastern Uttar Pradesh extending up to 0.9 km above mean sea level is expected to trigger heavy rain in isolated pockets of Jharkhand after the next 24 hours.
The Ranchi Met Centre also issued a forecast of light to moderate rain accompanied by a thunderstorm at many places across the state on Tuesday.
“The storm is expected to gain a speed of 40-50 kmph at isolated places over the state, ” said a Met official in Ranchi.
Meanwhile, Met statistics revealed that light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder occurred in few places while gusty wind prevailed at isolated places over the state.
The highest rainfall recorded was 24 mm at Lohardaga. The highest maximum temperature of 43°C was recorded at Daltonganj while the lowest minimum temperature of 21°C was recorded at Ranchi.
