New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather warnings for several states, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas on September 24 and the coming days. North Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam are expected to see significant rainfall today, with further downpours forecasted for other regions, including Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and Telangana in the following days.
Key Rainfall Predictions by Region:
West India:
- Fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected across Konkan & Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada over the next three days.
- Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecasted in Konkan & Goa, Gujarat, and Madhya Maharashtra on September 25 and 26, with thunderstorms and gusty winds likely.
- The IMD also warns of a moderate flash flood risk in the Gujarat region, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan, and Goa on September 24 and 25.
Central India:
- Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh will experience fairly widespread rainfall throughout the week. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated in Madhya Pradesh on September 25.
East and Northeast India:
- Widespread light to moderate rainfall is forecast for Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim over the next week.
- Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted in Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh on September 25 and 26.
- Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha will see scattered rainfall through the week, with heavy rainfall in Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand until September 26.
Northwest India:
- Scattered light to moderate rainfall will prevail across Northwest India, with heavy rainfall expected in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on September 26 and 27.
- East Uttar Pradesh is forecasted to receive heavy rainfall between September 27 and 29, with similar conditions in West Uttar Pradesh on September 28.
