Jamshedpur, July 9: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of restricted rainfall activity over Jharkhand on Saturday due to a subdued monsoon.
Most districts are expected to witness very light rain – below 10 mm. Weathermen ruled out heavy rainfall activity in the next 24 hours.
The restricted rainfall activity would result in a rise in maximum readings by one or two degrees Celsius in the next 48 hours, said a duty officer at Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
The Met office has also not issued any warning for Saturday and also in the next 48 – hours.
Rainfall statistics suggested that Jharkhand as a whole has received 150.1 mm of rain so far after the advent of monsoon as compared to a normal of 264.9 mm, resulting in a deficit of 43 % rainfall.
In absence of widespread and heavy rainfall, the deficit is likely to increase in the next few days, said a duty officer at Ranchi Met Centre.
